Methodical Pathways for Conductors
Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Wellesz
Online Workshop with Jörg Birhance
Start: 3 October 2024
Beethoven: Symphony No. 5 and 7
Mendelssohn: Symphony No. 3
Methodical work on major works of the repertoire has become an integral background part of our study program - not only - for conductors.
In the upcoming winter semester, we dedicate our exploration of form, Gestalt and the inner structure of the composition to compositions which are often played and heard but seldom looked at closely. As a "bonus track" we will also have a closer look to Egon Wellesz' "Musik für Streichorchester".
- Analysis: The Observation of Form as Movement (after Constantin Bugeanu)
- Melos, Tempo
- Problems of Instrumentation
- Stylistic aspects
